Teach Every Child About Food: Chef Jamie Oliver’s Wish

More than ever, food is playing a tremendous role in our lives. The U.S. is one of the unhealthiest countries on earth when it comes to food. Diet-related diseases are a global problem, but they are the biggest killer in the U.S. Obesity and diet-related diseases account for over 10% of our healthcare costs equating to $150 billion per year.

According to Chef Jamie Oliver, now is the time to concentrate on educating people, especially the youth, about the proper diet and sustainable agriculture. Parents, schools, businesses, retailers (supermarkets, restaurant industry, farms, food-related organizations.....) should be accountable for food education and putting food education at the heart of their businesses, teaching our children what proper nutrition is and its importance to sustaining a healthy life.
