FohBoh Technical Matters

So, 14 days ago we discovered a bug on the FohBoh.com server. It was a nasty bug that (a) no one knew existed; and (b) couldn't easily be fixed. It basically prevented users from editing posts, posting comments (sometimes) swapping out photos and rating videos. It prevented our Fohbohist feature from being posted and limited your ability to invite new members, among other issues.

Keith Brown, our Vice President of Technology and a team of engineers at our platform and hosting provider spent 14 days trying to solve this puzzle. The good news is the tech wizards finally identified the problem and fixed it around 11 PM PST yesterday.
This past two weeks has proved to be very frustrating for all of us here. I am sure these inconvenient technical glitches were frustrating to you all, as well. First, I want to apologize for our technical difficulties and hope this wasn't too inconvenient or disruptive. Secondly, we have decided to make some significant changes to our community platform that will strengthen its core and vastly improve the user experience on FohBoh. Change on the social web is good and when you have more ways to connect, collaborate and communicate, then the power of collective intelligence is personified.

These new site modifications will become apparent in the coming weeks. They are a result of your comments and suggestions as well as from our own experiences. We also need to keep up with the ever changing social web. In connection with this, we will keep you up-to-date and provide details of the new features that will make FohBoh even better, more stable and valuable as we strive to deliver more social media thought leadership, social media products and services to the foodservice industry.
