Have high gas prices hurt your business? Or maybe Helped?

I am curious, as to the overall effect of higher gas prices. I was in a Longhorn yesterday talking to the staff. They said business was up from last year! Others have been doing well. Others have not! How about you?

I think the a lot of businesses are experiencing the reduced counts, but with increased check average it makes up the difference. Our counts are stabilized and for the hot summer months I am happy! Higher gas has actually helped with more deliveries. Carry outs are flat to slightly negative. They had been growing steadily. Here's hoping gas keeps dropping. Back down again today, after a $5 rise yesterday. Of course Exxon releases RECORD profits once again today.

I supervise 30 restaurants in Ohio and we are beginning to trend up. We have implemented some price increases over the last year so we have not gotten back to positive guest counts but are exceeding last year's sales. I have 4 of the 30 exceeding last year's guest counts. Moving up!!!
