Voice of the Restaurant Industry
Although Thanksgiving has come and gone, our thankfulness remains. We at Share Our Strength are dedicating today, and the subsequent weeks, to say thank you to all of you who make our work possible.

Over the past weeks, Share Our Strength has been connecting our partner organizations on the ground in New York and New Jersey to needed resources. Our partners at City Harvest, the Food Bank for NYC (both in New York City), and Community FoodBank of New Jersey are working around the clock to get needed meals and food assistance to thousands of families in the affected areas. To really band the restaurant industry and other anti-hunger advocates together, we also continued our tradition of…

The sun was high, the tunes were roaring and kids of the Thomasville Center of Hope were thrilled to help kickoff Arby’s mobile truck tour, “Hungry for Happiness!” On Thursday, May 31st, folks from all across Atlanta came together to generate awareness around one of the most critical times of the year for children who struggle with hunger—summer.
How could summer, one of the most wonderful times of the year for many, especially if you are below the age of 18, ever be thought of as…

While most of us are looking forward to vacations, barbecues in the park and more, 17 million children in America will be facing greater risk of going hungry this summer. And if we don’t act now, these kids will be facing missed meals and hungry stomachs instead of the fun childhood summers they deserve.
When schools let out for summer break, many low-income families aren’t able to afford the healthy meals their children would normally receive during the rest of the academic year.…

In our work to protect SNAP funding, Share Our Strength has invited our supporters to stand up against cuts in the program by contacting their Congressional representatives. We also asked those who had been on food assistance to share their own personal stories with us. We have received more than 80 responses, and after reading the stories submitted, Billy Shore, Share Our Strength’s Founder and CEO, sent a letter to our staff. In it, he wrote, “The connection between what we do every day…
