The Truth About Bad Taxi Service

Did you know that NO TAXI COMPANY EVER ORDERS ANY DRIVER TO RESPOND TO ANY PARTICULAR CALL?

That's why service sucks. You know what I mean. If the driver ever shows up at all, he may come long before we were told and we aren't ready. That's because dispatchers have no idea if or when a driver will take the call.

Want to know why?

CASH!

All taxi service business models operate in the paradigm that drivers will always be paid in cash. The cab companies don't want…

Super Bowl Party Food

Super Bowl Sunday. What a concept. It's an invention of the media with full cooperation of the NFL to see how many people can gather around a TV for several hours. They estimated that over 97 million people tuned in for hours and hours of pre-game futures, the game, and post-game summaries by former legends and talking heads.

So, what did you do in the food department? What did you bring to the party? Was it ribs or burgers, Chinese food or fried chicken? Tartare of tuna? Pizza?… Continue

How was your NYE party?

Did you attend a New Year’s Eve party last night to bring in 2008? My wife and I attended a posh party at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. If you haven't been there, it's our town's attempt to compete with Vegas and/or L.A., but it's nowhere close. Many call it an eyesore, but it has become a popular local hangout. It was packed. We opted for the $99 dinner, dancing, open bar package vs. the $35 Nikki Beach meat market with no open bar, no dinner, no…

Christmas party at Mr. D's

Just got back from Vegas visiting my sister and brother-in-law. Had a blast at a local watering h*** Mr. D's. Anyone visiting Vegas should make it a point to stop in. Everyone is friendly, they're local and they know how to have a good time. You won't feel like you you're in the fast lane here. Be ready to make new friends and have a good…

Holiday Parties Start This Week

Whenever I think about going to a company holiday party, I picture that scene in Santa Claus II. The movie with Tim Allen playing Santa at his future-Ms. Claus' Christmas party. Totally lame. No one is having fun. People checking their watches and there is nothing to do. A bowl of blue punch and a few chips to munch on. Boring and a seemingly forced get-to-gether. But, that's not reality...it's a m o v i e.

I'm going to my wife's Christmas (holiday) party tonight. I get to meet… Continue
