The Power of Push (Messages!)

Push notifications are messages delivered to those who have downloaded your app and accepted notifications. They can be delivered whether or not the user is using the app at the time of send - which is one of best things about them. Instead of relying on your customer going into their inbox and opening your email, your push message appears automatically on their screen.

This is what makes push messaging so effective, and why push ads have a click through rate that is ten times…

2 Reasons Your Restaurant Marketing Efforts Should Be Multi-Channel

As the saying goes, "Everything in moderation", is the best rule of thumb to live by.  Believe it or not, the same holds true for your restaurant's marketing efforts as well. Although, it's not for the exact same reasons you would imagine.

Running a restaurant can be grueling, to say the least.  Whether you are a manager, marketing manager, owner, or…

3 Ways To Increase Revenues Using SMS (Text Message) Marketing In Your Restaurant

Lately I've been reading many great articles about restaurant websites and why you should have a mobile enabled version of your website, for when visitors browse your restaurant on a smartphone.  The general consensus of these articles is that you should seriously consider having  a mobile version of your site.  I agree wholeheartedly with this.

While I may agree…

Ice Cream Trucks Have Outgrown "Pop Goes the Weasel"

I live in a neighborhood with a twice daily visit from the ice cream man. I know he’s coming because my lab and German shepherd go crazy when they hear that familiar tune – Pop Goes the Weasel.

The idea of an ice cream truck is appealing when you combine 90 degrees, lots of kids and cheap treats. However, it’s rather annoying to the parents at home with eager kids and to the neighbors who could care less about your sweet treats and catchy…

A Quick Guide on Text Message Marketing

When it comes to mobile marketing, one of the most understood and available mobile technologies is text messaging. It reaches iPhones, Android phones, Blackberries, Windows phones, and Palm phones (unlike an iPhone app that only works on an iPhone). New York Times says it's the closest thing to a guaranteed read. It's instant, and it's great for your loyal audiences.…

Non-Operator
NO, Don’t Hang UP!!

There is a study by AT&T that found 60% of phone callers who are put on hold will hang up and 30% of these callers will not call back.

One of the most overlooked profit centers in the business is MOH (Messaging On Hold). It is estimated that customers who are exposed to on hold messaging, where a call-to-action is communicated, are 80% more likely to try a new product or service or take advantage of a special offer. We use MOH to communicate to our online system users information… Continue

Jingle Bells, Texting Sells (from textsells.wordpress.com)

You can't turn on the TV News without seeing another Christmas Light Switch-on, the latest Holiday Sales figures and getting the general message 'if you're not shopping, you're a loser'.

All well and good for retailers who spend their whole year gearing up to the holiday in the vain hope that turnouts will be good and spending will make up for previous, lacklustre months.… Continue

Mobile marketing strategy boosts The Taco Maker’s Q1 comps

The Taco Maker (TTM) has reported a 21 percent same-stores sales increase in the first quarter of 2009. The company has credited its success to a new mobile marketing strategy that spotlights their new flagship product, “The Maker” burrito, a one-pound burrito stuffed with up to three kinds of meat, beans, enchilada sauce and Monterey Jack Cheese in a warm tortilla.

“We knew in a slowing economy that our marketing approach had to be focused on value for the customer,” said Carlos Budet,… Continue

How many Area Directors get this kind of text message?

This past sunday, Albuquerque lost another restaurant. While I was reading the paper, getting ready to watch some playoff games, others were getting a TEXT MESSAGE saying not to come in, since the restaurant was closing. I won't give the name of the establishment. It's unimportant. The tragedy is the message and the way it was delivered. I'm fairly certain NONE of those people were hired by text message, so why were they notified that way? How many Area Directors, Vice Presidents, and CEO's get… Continue
