Hi Erin, I agree, it's the collective ideas of the team that make the most worthwhile projects. I didn't even know that this need existed until one of the members of our conference team came forward with it. Then people found unique ways to contribute. One restaurant company contacted their locations in Minneapolis, the location of the conference, and the staff from individual restaurants in that area collected 75 of the bears. Those folks weren't even going to the conference. I also had a unique experience recently. I was invited to speak at a GM Conference for Melting Pot Restaurants. They held their meeting in Memphis, partly because their charity is St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. They have raised over 2 million in the past couple of years. A field trip to the hospital was built in and very moving, but the St. Jude's staff also conducted a workshop on how to effectively raise money (especially since Melting Pot reaches out to their customers for donations). The GM's came up with some great ideas. Their campaign next year should be even more successful. In fact, the Teddy Bear that I donated to the Firefighters came from the St. Jude's Gift Shop. Seemed like a neat connection. Take care, John
