Biography
Wendy Gordon has worked in the niche restaurant, food and beverage and hospitality public relations industry for over 15 years. Her experience in the field through working at agencies, on-site in hotels and in the corporate environment have afforded her not only a thorough opportunity to participate in all aspects of her chosen field, but also to establish close and enduring working relationships with local and national media.

Throughout her career, she has not only developed and implemented successful strategic public relations and marketing plans, but also acted as consultant in restaurant concepts, collateral design, and promotional events.

Most recently with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Marriott International as corporate director of food and beverage public relations, she has produced coverage for their restaurants that have included not only numerous feature stories in major local market media throughout the United States and abroad, but also in such national and international publications as Esquire, Food and Wine, Gourmet, Travel + Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, Saveur, Bon Appetit, The New York Times, USA Today, Vogue, Town & Country, Elle, Playboy, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Metropolitan Home, Architectural Digest and Food Arts and broadcast media such as The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, Food Network, CNN, MSNBC and Fox and Friends.

Prior to establishing Flash Communications and her tenure with The Ritz-Carlton, she worked as a restaurant specialist at agencies in Philadelphia and New York. She has also worked on ‘the other side of the industry,’ as a freelance food and feature writer for a variety of publications.

Wendy, I love your pic as well!!

It's cool to have a friend who follows the online PR of DC restaurants as much as I do. Did you see we were mentioned the other day in Tom's chat?

"Dupont Circle, DC: My husband and I dined at Firefly the other night, and learned from the hostess that the restaurant has not been reviewed in the Post for something like three years, during which time it has changed chefs. Our experiences there have been stellar, and we think it definitely merits a new review - so why the wait?

Tom Sietsema: Maybe because of all the competition out there? If you haven't noticed, hardly a week goes by that some interesting new restaurant doesn't open. (Not that I'm complaining!)

I began doing re-reviews of previously reviewed restaurants several years ago. But I'm just one mouth and I only have so much space. I'm well aware that Firefly has a new chef in its kitchen, however."

Am I that "hostess?" ;)
