Historic Clifton Mill

My son had never been to Clifton Mill, and looking for cheap things to do over Spring Break, I decided to take him there for breakfast. We had a great table overlooking the gorge and grist mill. We were one of two tables in the restaurant.

Benham's For Restaurant Week

For the last night of restaurant week, we chose to go to Benham's. I had really been looking forward to the meal, because of so many good things I had heard from friends who had previously been employed by Benham's.

Auntie Anne's & FYE

Mary and Mary used the Auntie Anne's and F.Y.E. coupons this weekend. They were thrilled with the deal they got at Auntie Anne's. For a total of 2.00, they both received a combo of pretzel sticks and a drink. Although I usually try to avoid the chains, Auntie Anne's is consistently good. Fat and carbs...where can you go wrong? :)

Christopher's - Usually a Standby

Mary and I went to Christopher's Restaurant at 2318 E Dorothy Lane, Kettering on Tuesday afternoon. Christopher's is usually an old stanby. Typically everything is made from real food and is fresh. This time though, I was disappointed. I blame myself for ordering badly. I had this Italian craving, and I ordered their lasagna. I was touted as having four cheeses and homemade pasta sauce. Carmel's - Nostalgia is way overrated

Michael and I went to Carmel's day before yesterday. The place looks mostly the same since I worked there in the 1980's. While the menu has a few of same things, it is mostly different. Also, while pretty clean, it isn't spotless like it was when Vickie had it.

Michael ordered the Bronco Burger. It was hand pattied, not one of those hard frozen circles from Sysco. It had cheese, barbecue sauce, and onion rings on top. It came with fries which were not salted. This is one of my hugest… Continue
