Posted on March 12, 2008 at 1:25pm 1 Comment

FYI, I thought you would find my "2007 Restaurant Year in Review" article of interest. Now appearing in the current (March-April) issue of Simply The Best Magazine. (My review of Taverna Kyma also appears in that issue).
I would attach the pdf for you, if I could figure out how on this website.

Hey Ken,
Hope all is well my friend!
I'm the Director if Marketing for a large QSR management group in NYC and until next week the Marketing FohBohist.
I'm heading down to Fort Lauderdale for a few days from the 17th though the 21st and while I'm there I was hoping to try to do some interviews for possible job openings in the Marketing field while there.
I really want to relocate my family to the area and was wondering if you have heard of any buzz or contacts I might be able to reach out to.
Even if you know of any head hunters you could steer me towards that would be helpful.
Thanks friend and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Ken,

First, thank you for your positive feeback on my post, "What's the Next Step?"

I was also excited to learn, by reading your profile, that you are from Cincinnati.
I grew up in Cincy.

What part of town did you live?
Did you go to High School there?

Hey ken, We met a while back. I am running a pretty big charity event on November 11th and we had a couple of restaurants fall out at the last minute. Do you have any contacts that might want to jump on an opportunity to be in front of potentially 1000 new patrons?

TED: Hamish Jolly: A shark-deterrent wetsuit (and it's not what you think) - Hamish Jolly (2013)

Hamish Jolly, an ocean swimmer in Australia, wanted a wetsuit that would deter a curious shark from mistaking him for a potential source of nourishment. (Which, statistically, is rare, but certainly a fate worth avoiding.) Working with a team of scientists, he and his friends came up with a fresh approach — not a shark cage, not a suit of chain-mail, but a sleek suit that taps our growing understanding of shark vision.

TED: Michel Laberge: How synchronized hammer strikes could generate nuclear fusion - Michel Laberge (2014)

Our energy future depends on nuclear fusion, says Michel Laberge. The plasma physicist runs a small company with a big idea for a new type of nuclear reactor that could produce clean, cheap energy. His secret recipe? High speeds, scorching temperatures and crushing pressure. In this hopeful talk, he explains how nuclear fusion might be just around the corner.

TED: Sarah Lewis: Embrace the near win - Sarah Lewis (2014)

At her first museum job, art historian Sarah Lewis noticed something important about an artist she was studying: Not every artwork was a total masterpiece. TED: Matthew Carter: My life in typefaces - Matthew Carter (2014)
