Okay, let's not Sugar Coat this...Why does this particular segment of commerce attract so many Failures? I've met so many of these people in my career, as did most of you. We shake our heads in wonder and repeat ourselves over and over, "Did he just say, he spent $3 Million on this Place?" Then you eat there and the Food.."BLOWS." This is the beginning of the… Continue

Good Morning, I am a "retired" chef and restaurant owner currently running a consulting business yet focusing on some very intriguing web projects that may interest you in the near future...I will keep you posted.
Where exactly is your restaurant? There was a small place in Cooperstown NY called DiMaggio's that was run by a DiMaggio family, any relation?

Hey Joe....First of all...Pleased to meet the son of the MAN!! I would like to personally invite you to my!! Its a place where you can advertise your business, promote your special events & invite your customers there to blog about food related events. You customers will also be able to exchange recipes, join groups and interact with other food customers from around the world!! It's a different concept, but I think that's the draw. I am very excited about the future of this site. My company (Goins Enterprises) is currently launching a national campaign to promote this website. We feel that as we are promoting nationally, our members should promote to their own customers. I think that this site will give "Ellen Giminski" of Denver, the opportunity to experience your establishment & browse your menu and pictures. This will entice Mrs. Giminski to visit your establishment on her next trip to Florida.

We have also designated a place on the Home Page where we will doing "Close Ups" on Restaurants, Chefs & Special Events. Please stop by and take a look. Please contact me with any comments or constructive criticisms.

TED: Hamish Jolly: A shark-deterrent wetsuit (and it's not what you think) - Hamish Jolly (2013)

Hamish Jolly, an ocean swimmer in Australia, wanted a wetsuit that would deter a curious shark from mistaking him for a potential source of nourishment. (Which, statistically, is rare, but certainly a fate worth avoiding.) Working with a team of scientists, he and his friends came up with a fresh approach — not a shark cage, not a suit of chain-mail, but a sleek suit that taps our growing understanding of shark vision.

TED: Michel Laberge: How synchronized hammer strikes could generate nuclear fusion - Michel Laberge (2014)

Our energy future depends on nuclear fusion, says Michel Laberge. The plasma physicist runs a small company with a big idea for a new type of nuclear reactor that could produce clean, cheap energy. His secret recipe? High speeds, scorching temperatures and crushing pressure. In this hopeful talk, he explains how nuclear fusion might be just around the corner.

TED: Sarah Lewis: Embrace the near win - Sarah Lewis (2014)

At her first museum job, art historian Sarah Lewis noticed something important about an artist she was studying: Not every artwork was a total masterpiece. She asks us to consider the role of the almost-failure, the near win, in our own lives. In our pursuit of success and mastery, is it actually our near wins that push us forward?

TED: Matthew Carter: My life in typefaces - Matthew Carter (2014)

Pick up a book, magazine or screen, and more than likely you'll come across some typography designed by Matthew Carter. In this charming talk, the man behind typefaces such as Verdana, Georgia and Bell Centennial (designed just for phone books -- remember them?), takes us on a spin through a career focused on the very last pixel of each letter of a font.
