Advocates and Ambassadors

...that's what training creates...

We - or least our goal is to - create Advocates out of customers and Ambassadors out of employees.

Don't consider the term "advocate" or "ambassador" lightly. The difference between a satisfied customer and an advocate can be measured in light-years; the same goes for an employee who serves as a brand ambassador versus just working shifts.

Research has shown (Gallup, Service Management Group, et al) that a "brand advocate" is… Continue

I wanted to personally invite you to join our discussions in regards to cheeses at the Cheese Group on FohBoh. Every week we introduce a new cheese and invite you to find it in your area, buy it, try it and then dicuss it with us. We could use someone like yourself who could give us some good, positive feedback.

I'm in NC for now. But, there is so much to catch up on. I've listed a couple of ways for you to reach me below. Would probably be easier to catch up over the phone than trade witty e-mails for days. Look forward to talking with you soon!

Hey Jeff,

I am disapointed to hear about Cane's moving to Dallas...that means you get to move again. WooHoo! I am sure you are excited about Dallas; just not moving again.
I am currently looking for a Training Coordinator to take Dionne's place. If you could forward my e-mail address on to someone you think would do a good job that would be awsome!
Good luck and let me know if I can do anything to help with the move.

Jeff-

You reminded me - I believe he and his wife got into something outside foodservice - Meanwhile I saw your great bear pix on your site! I have a large collection of bears and often take their pictures - in fact many of my Christmas cards are photos of them! Nice to meet another bear lover.

TED TALKS VIDEO

TED: James Patten: The best computer interface? Maybe ... your hands - James Patten (2013)

"The computer is an incredibly powerful means of creative expression," says designer James Patten. But right now, we interact with computers, mainly, by typing and tapping. In this nifty talk and demo, Patten imagines a more visceral, physical way to bring your thoughts and ideas to life in the digital world, taking the computer interface off the screen and putting it into your hands.

TED: Hamish Jolly: A shark-deterrent wetsuit (and it's not what you think) - Hamish Jolly (2013)

Hamish Jolly, an ocean swimmer in Australia, wanted a wetsuit that would deter a curious shark from mistaking him for a potential source of nourishment. (Which, statistically, is rare, but certainly a fate worth avoiding.) Working with a team of scientists, he and his friends came up with a fresh approach — not a shark cage, not a suit of chain-mail, but a sleek suit that taps our growing understanding of shark vision.

TED: Michel Laberge: How synchronized hammer strikes could generate nuclear fusion - Michel Laberge (2014)

Our energy future depends on nuclear fusion, says Michel Laberge. The plasma physicist runs a small company with a big idea for a new type of nuclear reactor that could produce clean, cheap energy. His secret recipe? High speeds, scorching temperatures and crushing pressure. In this hopeful talk, he explains how nuclear fusion might be just around the corner.

TED: Sarah Lewis: Embrace the near win - Sarah Lewis (2014)

At her first museum job, art historian Sarah Lewis noticed something important about an artist she was studying: Not every artwork was a total masterpiece. She asks us to consider the role of the almost-failure, the near win, in our own lives. In our pursuit of success and mastery, is it actually our near wins that push us forward?
