Biography: I was born and raised in West Michigan and have been in the hospitality industry most of my adult life including a 4 star/4 diamond hotel. I graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Food Service Management in 1983.

Current projects:
-Founder/owner, JP's Coffee & Espresso Bar, Holland, Michigan since 1993.
-Principal, On Track Coffee Consulting.
-Columnist, Specialty Coffee Retailer magazine.
-Created Rubyjuice, a juice and smoothie bar concept, franchised it and then sold to Nashville-based Cutting Edge Foods.
-Principal, Midwest Barista School (MBS)
-Certified judge for SCAA Barista Competitions.
