Biography
IAN VAUGHN
Sr Vice President of Operations

As the Sr Vice President of Operations for Raising Cane’s, Ian Vaughn is responsible for leading more than 80 locations and 3000 crewmembers. His goals are to continue spreading Raising Cane’s Vision to open great locations across the nation and eventually the world and be the leader of quality chicken finger meals, great crews, cool culture, and active involvement in Cane’s communities. His plans are to continue to do it with the same passion and belief in the food, culture, and the people servicing Raising Cane’s customers everyday, and those people being, of course, Raising Cane’s crewmembers – because “if not for them, none of us would be here today talking about chicken!”

In 2002, Ian began his career with Raising Cane’s as a Shift Manager while he was a senior in college at LSU where he graduated in 2003. At the time, Cane’s had ten company stores and had not yet began its franchising program. Ian’s prior experiences were extensive in restaurants; however, management experience was limited to an “inventory manager” at a small health food store, from where he was recognized by Raising Cane’s for his leadership, passion, and hard work.

Ian quickly progressed to become the youngest General Manager in Raising Cane’s and he accomplished this within four months of joining the company through the constant coaching and development from his leaders and peers. His GM experience quickly positioned him to open the first prototype restaurant in Baton Rouge located on Siegen Lane – Raising Cane’s #11.

During his tenure in the GM position at the Siegen Lane location, Ian led the restaurant to become the flagship training location, ultimately gaining national recognition by Nation’s Restaurant News (a nation-wide trade publication) in an issue recognizing “50 General Manager’s Orchestrating Success”. During the time he spent as the GM of this training facility, Ian trained more than twelve new GM’s, thirty shift managers, the first franchisees, and opened the gateway for Raising Cane’s growth years.

In 2004, Ian was promoted to the District Manger position. He managed eight restaurants between Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas including two training locations. After a successful year as a District Manager, Ian was then promoted to the Director of New Store Operations in the newly introduced department of New Store Openings. In this role, a few items Ian was responsible for were: building the framework for the new department through staffing, job descriptions, roles and responsibilities, etc; development of the NSO training programs, timeline structure, training teams, development initiatives; and managing a massive growth rate of 50% in 2006. These items along with many others resulted in Raising Cane’s opening more than 25 new locations in nine states in less than 15 months.

From Director of New Store Operations, Ian took the opportunity to become the Senior Director of Company Store Operations where he developed and streamlined operational systems and processes and focused a tremendous amount of energy on people development. As the company owned restaurants performance began to grow as did overall key performance indicators for Raising Cane's operations, Ian had the opportunity to expand his horizons to include the franchise partners of Raising Cane's and was promoted to Vice President of Operations. Ian has since developed strong relationships with Raising Cane's franchisees and continues to drive support functionality, operational development, people development, and many other exciting facets of the Raising Cane's brand including active community involvement.

These achievements along with many others along the way have progressed Ian through directing all company owned restaurants to now leading all of Operations including what he terms as “truly incredible people” – Cane’s Franchise Partners.
