Biography
My name is Giuseppe Rosati and I've started a few successful job boards in the past few years. Through my experience I've noticed two things: One, that social media (Facebook, Twitter, FohBoh etc.) is changing the way that companies recruit and presents a big opportunity, and two, that the restaurant industry is not well represented when it comes to good, affordable job boards. So I recently started RestoGigs (www.RestoGigs.com) which is a targeted job board for the restaurant industry that incorporates social media as a big part of it's platform. And maybe most important of all, we've kept it extremely affordable so that even the smallest restaurant can afford to recruit on the site.

Google Search to Incorporate More Results from Social Media Sites

Posted on December 8, 2009 at 11:33am 0 Comments

If you haven't heard, check out this article here: http://tinyurl.com/ylggftw

So it seems that Google search results (as well as Bing) will be doing a better job of scanning the big social media sites out there for relevant results to your search queries. What this means for those of us that post info to our Facebook and Twitter pages (and other social media sites) is that those posts will now gain even greater exposure on the… Continue

How the Job Aggregators are Changing the Way We Search for Jobs

Posted on December 2, 2009 at 6:48pm 2 Comments

First of all, what the heck is a job aggregator? Plain and simple, it is a search engine for jobs. Think of Google for job postings. They crawl and aggregate job postings from sites all over the web including but not limited to:

• General job boards - Monster, CareerBuilder and HotJobs

• Niche/Industry-Specific Job Boards – RestoGigs.com, JobsInTheMoney.com.

• Direct Employer Career Sites - General Electric, Ford, Accenture, IBM, Federal Express, etc.

• Local/Regional Job… Continue

Why are Passive Job Seekers so Valuable to your Recruiting Campaign?

Posted on November 21, 2009 at 8:08pm 0 Comments

First of all, what is the passive job seeker? Well generally, they are already employed, and although not actively looking for a new job, they are always keeping their eyes open for an opportunity to move their careers forward.

Why are they so valuable? The first point is a simple one but can't be ignored, and that's the fact that since they are already employed it's a sign that they are likely employable. An extrapolation of this would be that they are likely doing well in their… Continue

How to Incorporate Social Media to Recruit the Best Candidates for Your Restaurant

Posted on November 21, 2009 at 11:32am 0 Comments

Some estimates that I’ve read recently:

• 67% of all internet users engage in social media (twitter, facebook, linkedin, etc..)

• 72.8% of all internet users read blogs

• The data from recently issued surveys shows that employers are more and more extensively recruiting on social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter. It also shows that the companies appear more satisfied with these types of recruits versus the ones they find solely from job… Continue
