Biography: Derek Gale is originally from Overland Park, Kansas, but now lives and works in the Chicago area. He has also lived and worked in Denver, Colorado and Washington, D.C. He has a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Denver, with minors in business and Spanish. He also holds a master’s of science in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

He currently works as senior editor at HOTELS magazine, a highly-regarded publication serving the global hotel industry, where he covers the food & beverage segment, among other hotel industry news.

Prior to re-joining HOTELS in the fall of 2007, Gale worked for a year as an editor on Restaurants & Institutions magazine.

We're based downtown. We cover a few resorts and hotels per issue, as well, but mostly restaurant, foodservice and distribution firms. I can send out a few issues if you want.
