Biography
INTRODUCTION TO CHARLIE JOHNSON & THE SERVICES OF NEW CAREERS RECRUITING

My wife & I entered the business of Restaurant Management Recruiting back in 2001 following retirement from a 20+ year career as Senior Financial Advisors for a major U.S. Insurer and Investment Brokerage firm.

Coming from that very detailed industry, when follow-up and attention to detail are paramount, combined with my passion for cooking and the resulting necessity - eating, our Southern Hospitality along with my ability to be on the phone for hours at a time, it was a natural transition to enter the food service recruiting industry as a 2nd career opportunity.

My wife and I founded New Careers Recruiting and went to work building the business & helping food service managers secure career oriented positions with reputable organizations across the U.S.A.

Eight years later, we have grown the business to the point where we are poised for another growth period. Presently NCR represents clients in the full service casual, quick serve, buffet, travel plaza & fast food segments of the food service industry, and are seeking to represent a select few additional concepts in each category.

For those hiring authorities, as well as restaurant managers interested in our services, below is a brief description about New Careers Recruiting and our industry unique screening process that we developed and refined since 2001. As you learn more about our company, you will discover that we go above and beyond the industry standard screening & selection process when identifying candidates for open management positions.

Then, as you familiarize yourself with the services of New Careers, you will find our unique selection process to be a valued additional source to the present procedure our clients utilize for selecting management candidates.

INTRODUCTION

New Careers Recruiting would like to take this time to thank you for considering our professional recruiting services and for giving us the opportunity to place talented, career oriented restaurant managers with your concept.

New Careers Recruiting is a nationwide restaurant recruiting agency that provides large corporate national chains, franchisees and individual restaurant owners in the food service & hospitality industries throughout the United States, with qualified, motivated and career oriented applicants for management positions at all levels – from entry level Managers in Training to multi-unit talent.

OUR MISSION

The Sole Mission of New Careers Recruiting is to provide our client companies with the highest possible level of career oriented management talent currently available for employment in the Restaurant & Hospitality Industries and to provide our candidates with the best possible restaurant management career opportunity.

Generally speaking, the best candidates are not actively seeking other employment; they must be identified and told of your management opportunity. With our extensive recruiting & networking capabilities, a proprietary resume data base, research tools (both internet and traditional) and dedication to professional training, our staff of recruiters speak to the management professionals you are in search of daily. Based in Norfolk, Virginia with satellite offices in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Roanoke, Virginia – near the Blue Ridge Parkway & Owings Mills, Maryland, New Careers Recruiting is recognized as a leader in the Food Service & Hospitality Recruiting Industries.

WHAT MAKES OUR SCREENING & SELECTION PROCESS SO UNIQUE ?

New Careers Recruiting seeks out and prescreens applicants utilizing a five tier screening and selection process that is unique to the industry by matching the candidate’s talents with the needs of your company, prior to any hiring authority / applicant interaction. During this multiple tier process, the candidate speaks with several recruiters, each with their own ability for recognizing management talent. During these initial interviews, our staff identifies reasons why the candidate would be a good match for your management team. On the contrary, during the final stages of the process, my partner & I look for any remaining reasons why the candidate would not be a good match.

We find that using two entirely different interviewing techniques results in a significantly more thorough screening process which results in the surfacing of issues, if any, which could prove to be problematic during your MIT process and beyond. The process digs well below the surface of the “facts on paper” and helps assure to a greater degree, a more qualified candidate for your management opportunity. We do not toss you numerous candidates following a three question screening, which unfortunately, is still today a widely used practice in the recruiting industry.

Additionally, our five tiered process helps assure we place only the best suited, most competent and qualified candidates in front of you – not just someone looking for a job change. By utilizing our services, we become a professional extension of your personnel office, thus reducing non-productive / non-income producing time spent with candidates who turn out to be a poor match for your management opportunity.

WHAT MAKES NEW CAREERS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER AGENCIES ?

During the New Careers screening process, our candidates frequently state that the time we spend with and require of them is significantly greater than that of other agencies. A large percentage of our candidates reveal that they are normally only asked if they are open to a concept, a few qualifying questions, referred to a website, then sent an application with no to little other efforts by the recruiter to make certain they are a good match for your concept.

In the end, candidates frequently comment that our method was much more thorough than that used by other recruiters they have worked with and are appreciative of the extra time and documentation we required of them. This saves you, our client, and your hiring authority’s valuable time – the very reason you are utilizing our service. Once we understand your management candidate profile, we go to work to help you reduce your management attrition.

While more detailed than the normal practice of, “send them in and hope some stick” - our five tiered method assures us that we are placing only the very best talent available in front of our clients.

New Careers is looking forward to a very successful 2009 and in order to reach that level of success, we realize we must meet and exceed your expectations when referring management candidates.

In closing, I would like to thank you for your consideration and for the opportunity to work with you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Charlie Johnson
