Honestly, I think it comes down to time. But every once in a while you'll see a post generate some good activity. Is it worth joining a group for those flare ups? I don't know yet.
For me, it's about finding people with common interests. I like to follow their posts, commnet on their topics (if I have something to add), network, etc. This social media thing is new to us all and I'm trying to figure out what works.

Welcome to the network! My name is Amanda Hite I am the Director of Training and Development for T&K. The groups I recommend joining are Leading Generation Y, National Speakers Association and Marketing with Web 2.0. I did trip over the review on my own. Cumberland House didn't pass anything along because their contract was with Microplane so they probably informed them. Studio Spear was doing the marketing for Micropane and this project came up. Jeff Spear knows that between food styling, being part of WCR, IACP and the board for the Maryland Hospitality Education Foundation I could help get this project done.
I get nothing on the proceeds of the book. Microplane's profits from royalites and revenues go to the National Kidney Foundation. I am promoting the sale of the book through www.mhef.org where $15.00 goes to ProStart scholarship fund. I am proud to say the my ProStart high school culinary team that I mentored (Carver Center) just took 2nd place in the State competition this past week.
I was just so thrilled with your review because you "Got It". You understood that we wanted to make it entertaining, with a real cross section of chefs ..your review was so spot on.
I hope you will remain in contact and do let me know when I can assist you in any way. I appreciate your understanding in this matter.
