- Bronagh Hanley
After nearly 20 years in business, from nonprofits and multi-million dollar international companies to start ups and public relations agencies, I am now working for myself. I run themenueditor.com, a proofing and editing service for restaurateurs and distributors and I just launched Big Noise PR to provide sound and simple public relations counsel to a wide variety of clients whose businesses I am passionate about. My career has revolved around public relations and all that entails, from the launch of home improvement show Trading Spaces to deflecting a massive PETA protest against a previous employer
I graduated from Syracuse University (SU) in 1990 with a bachelor of science degree in communications from the College of Visual and Performing Arts. I was a founding member of the SU Debate Club and currently serve as a mentor, advisor and board member for the College. I am a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the Entertainment Publicists Professional Society, a board member for the Climate Theater and an advisory board member of Redroom.com. My volunteer efforts include a long-term mentorship with the Everybody Wins! literacy program and Hands on Bay Area, a grassroots volunteer group.
Throughout my education and career, I have penned over 50 white papers, over 200 company statements, more than 30 articles for newsletters and annual reports, and over 1000 news releases on such disparate topics as a new type of peanut butter, the launch of nonprofit Art Against AIDS, the policy work of the government of Botswana and the premiere of a Dana Carvey special. I have been to the White House, testified before Congress and taught an elementary school and college class.
My current personal writing includes short stories, essays, a nonfiction memoir, a children's book and a business guide. In my day jobs, I am still plugging away on many proposals, press releases, statements and articles for clients whose work I admire.
