Personal Quote
Living Eternal Vigilance is the price of success
I have had a life time of customer service, it is in my blood, I am obsessed with it. The only the thing I am a tad more obsessed about is quality. Quality service, quality product, doing my best is often not enough but I am in therapy for that (just joking, not really).

I love restaurants and the hospitality industry because those are areas where you can strive for excellence in customer service and people expect it of you, things are not always perfect, but by George, make the customer leave you happy and you will succeed.

One last note, treat your employees with respect and you can expect the best from them, this is the secret to stellar customer service.

The Weatherman Got It Wrong Again – Where Are My Customers?

Posted on December 13, 2008 at 3:16pm 7 Comments

Have you ever noticed how the weather affects your restaurant sales? What is worse is when the “Local Weatherman” broadcasts for days the pending doom of severe weather and every one on the news jokes about how they are “staying in to avoid the “weather”.”

Then you sit in your empty restaurant on a bright sunny Saturday morning and wonder how many ways you can get back at the weather or the weatherman for sensationalizing the weather and not taking responsibility for the losses you… Continue

Win A Green Kitchen and Help the Planet

Posted on August 25, 2008 at 12:57pm 0 Comments

I got approached by a company giving away a $40,000 green kitchen, I am sure most of you that have restaurant websites also got the email, anyway I posted the giveaway on an article in my website. I do not make any money if you enter or click through. I simple did it as a favor to their marketing manager because I remembered to check my email.

The real reason I did it is because my personal motto is to add value to the world and if it means I help one person add value by saving the… Continue

They have just created a new video to help explain how to get around FohBoh which is pretty cool. Or if you don't have time for that just simply mess around with the navigational tool bar at the top. Main, My Page, Members, Map, Blogs, Events, Discussions, Groups, Photos, VIdeos, Rewards, Jobs, GPO, and Invite. All of those places takes you to a new area of the network. THat is the best way to explore the site. If you have any more questions, maybe some explanations, then I would be happy to help with that :o) I'll talk to you soon, have a great weekend!

Well I'll tell you what Abie! You've come to a great site when it comes to the benefits!

Especially you are also one of the first 50,000 members that gets to earn points towards own shares of stock. I love that they have offered that to us.

They keep coming up with more and more things for us. Like I see that the Food Buyers network has just contacted you about the GPO that they are offering exlusively to us for free. They are having a webinar on Friday about it. I'm excited to learn more myself.

I am greatful that there are so many amazing Restaurant Industry people here! I've met some great contacts. If you ever need any comments or help from me with your participation, then please feel free to contact me.

I hope you have a great night Abie! I'll talk to you later :o)

TED: Matthew Carter: My life in typefaces - Matthew Carter (2014)

Pick up a book, magazine or screen, and more than likely you'll come across some typography designed by Matthew Carter. In this charming talk, the man behind typefaces such as Verdana, Georgia and Bell Centennial (designed just for phone books -- remember them?), takes us on a spin through a career focused on the very last pixel of each letter of a font.

TED: Jeremy Kasdin: The flower-shaped starshade that might help us detect Earth-like planets - Jeremy Kasdin (2014)

Astronomers believe that every star in the galaxy has a planet, one fifth of which might harbor life. Only we haven't seen any of them -- yet. Jeremy Kasdin and his team are looking to change that with the design and engineering of an extraordinary piece of equipment: a flower petal-shaped "starshade" that allows a telescope to photograph planets from 50,000 kilometers away. It is, he says, the "coolest possible science."

TED: Norman Spack: How I help transgender teens become who they want to be - Norman Spack (2013)

Puberty is an awkward time for just about everybody, but for transgender teens it can be a nightmare, as they grow overnight into bodies they aren't comfortable with. In a heartfelt talk, endocrinologist Norman Spack tells a personal story of how he became one of the few doctors in the US to treat minors with hormone replacement therapy. By staving off the effects of puberty, Spack gives trans teens the time they need. (Filmed at TEDxBeaconStreet.)

TED: Jennifer Senior: For parents, happiness is a very high bar - Jennifer Senior (2014)

The parenting section of the bookstore is overwhelming—it's "a giant, candy-colored monument to our collective panic," as writer Jennifer Senior puts it. Why is parenthood filled with so much anxiety? Because the goal of modern, middle-class parents—to raise happy children—is so elusive. In this honest talk, she offers some kinder and more achievable aims.
