PRIVATE GROUPS

Private Groups are just like Groups on FohBoh, but private, secure and open only to those that are invited, exclusively. If you are the originator, you are in charge. You are the gatekeeper and moderator.

Case Study

Problem: I own a small chain of restaurants in Nevada and have a burning need to connect and communicate better with my employees. I really want open, two-way communication (a dialog) and be able to transfer knowledge, FOH and BOH experiences, discuss new menu ideas, share recipes, hold open discussions about specials and seasonal items. We have customer service challenges like most restaurants and want to use technology to train.

I would love to be able to read and comment on our employee's discussions. We have some restaurants that stay open on Thanksgiving and other that don't. What was it like working that night? Was the customer experience positive? How were the tips? The list goes on and on. To be able to have a private community just for our employees where we can discuss, share, learn, teach, upload videos and photos as well as training manuals and recipes would be awesome. But, I don't want to create my own social network and manage the community.

Solution: Create your own private community in minutes.

Step 1: Join FohBoh if you haven't already done so and create a profile. The more complete your profile is, the better. Make sure you add a photo!

Step 2: Check out Groups on FohBoh to see what a public group is and how people use them.

Step 3: If a Public Group works for you, great. But, if you want to keep your discussions and information private and secure and benefit from future upgrades to enhance the private group experience, then please contact create a private group and invite only those you want.

Features: Private, secure and open to those only you, the originator, invite.

  • Upload photos and video
  • Upload documents within new discussions
  • Create discussions, comment and interact privately
  • Comment and interact privately and securely with all employees
  • Monitor all content and set private policy and private group policies
Benefits: Better two-way communication creates a fun, interactive employee group that will lead to higher employee retention, less employee turnover and reduced costs attendant to hiring, training and developing new employees.

Bi-product: Longer tenured FOH employees deliver better service. Longer tenured BOH employees deliver better products. The result is a better dining experience for your customer, higher check averages, better tips, happier employees, lower turnover costs and increase sales.

Facts:
1. Each lost employee cost you, the operator, about $1,700 to replace. Each lost manager costs you about $19,000 to replace.

2. Industry-wide, with over 13 million employees and a weighted turnover rate of about 100%, the restaurant industry invests over $22 billion a year in employee turnover.

3. The typical casual dining restaurant chain with 100 restaurants and 7,500 employees may spend over $14 million a year to replace lost employees.

4. Each casual dining restaurant may spend over $140,000 per year on employee turnover.
