Voice of the Restaurant Industry
I was reading some of the previous responses to a question about creating the perfect training program and wanted to get some feedback. I am helping to develop the training materials for my restaurant now, mostly FOH... but how do you feel about using tablets, or online training programs? They save paper, are easy to update, edit, and add new information, but they wouldn't be the most cost effective for small establishments. They would save on paper!!
What does your establishment use? Printed material from the office printer? Binders? Online programs? Why did you choose this method?
Also, what are some suggestions for ways to address awkward topics, like hair and make up for women, religious requests from employees, and proper manners? I find that with young employees new to the industry, you quickly realize what most people don't know about restaurant etiquette!
Thanks for reading!
