I just recently started on Twitter and have learned a lot. It's a service that anyone in the Restaurant industry can benefit from and on many levels. If you'd like more info - please see my blog post on the subject.

In terms of Online Ordering specifically - Twitter would be an ideal tool to send special offers to interested parties, and since they're interested - they'll be much more apt to take action and use those offers. This is at no cost to you or your customers and with immediate delivery - something unavailable via any other advertising medium. At the same time employment needs could be broadcast, schedules and employees could be notified of just about anything you might want. Online order status could be sent as confirmation. These are just some of the uses.
