I had the opportunity to develop a restaurant pager system alternative for the Max Restaurant Group in Connecticut a few years ago and have come to realize the cell phone pager system we developed for them is growing in demand.  One thing I didn't realize is how costly pager systems are and the fact that pager replacements costs are a problem for busy restaurants. Mobile Matradee, the solution we developed for the Max Restaurant Group is a three in one solution (wait list, guest notification and mobile marketing). We are currently in the testing phase with national chain.
I am interest to learn who has heard of the restaurant cell phone pager or restaurant text pager technology and who is using it with what results? It is the future of guest pagers?

Just curious, does your technology use the customers own cell information to send direct call/text for seating? If so, would it also be able to send a mobile customer review or future mobile marketing to the client from the restaurant?

Yes Mobile Matradee texts/calls the customers own cell phone. When the guests arrives the host requests the guest cell phone to notify them when their table is ready. The host offers a choice of either a call or text notification. We recognize not all people have text plans and prefer a call.
As for a sending a follow up message to the guest such as a customer satisfaction survey or a text coupon our system does that very well. Our system has a WAP Push feature, where the restaurant can send out a text message with a link to a mobile menu that opens up in their cell phone browser. A great way to push out weekly specials. Restaurants that have trivia night we have a mobile trivia application that works great to engage guests to come in and play trivia or win prizes that bring them to the restaurants in order to redeem them.
We strongly suggest any promotional campaigns are permission based only and have the consent of the guest prior to sending them. You don't ever want to spam your guests with unwanted text messages. We have a whole program around building a mobile loyalty subscriber program.
