How do restaurants get websites?

Greetings fellow restaurant tech friends. I've joined Fohboh to mildly promote my company's new restaurant website service, but really my goal is to learn more about our market. The essential question we needed answered is this- how do restaurants get their websites? Do they find a designer and spend lots of money with one-on-one attention? Do they hire a more comprehensive marketing company who puts a website in a larger branding package? Do they sign up for an online ordering or reservation system and get a website as part of that?

Our sense is that restaurants struggle to find a cost-effective way to build and maintain their website, and that a service like ours will be successful because many restaurateurs will gladly play a small monthly fee to do it themselves, so long as there is expert support and training there for them at every turn. Some have told us we're crazy- restaurant people have no interest in learning web skills, and would rather pay an 'expert' thousands to do it for them.
