Here's a new innovative use for in-store wireless...

a) Require customers to view a wireless login page (1 click access) prior to being granted access to the internet (this is how Starbucks does it now).

b) Use that wireless login page as an in-store website for building your email marketing database and social networks.

The key here is that you're building your actual customer list as opposed to prospective customer list as would be the case with your regular website. Your actual customers are in fact your very best prospects for future business and will likely deliver you the highest return on effort (I'd say "investment" but email and social marketing are dirt cheap).

You may even want to enlist serving staff to do email address data entry right at the table with wi-fi capable smart-phones or simply note the email address and do the data entry at their stations.

Just some food for thought.
