Restaurant Social Media

Gary Vaynerchuk gives us the tip on the importance of blogs, Facebook etc etc...

"Taking risks, putting your self out there has virtually no downside", he said. “The people you think control the game are about to lose it anyway,” so you’re better off taking control of your message.

He went on to say that being genuine and truthful made up for not being a great writer. He warned against thinking that daily observations from your vineyard or winery [or cafe/restaurant] weren’t important enough to interest people. If you tell people about yourself and don’t preach or sell, they care, he said. “You need to go direct to the consumer,” he said. “if you don’t, you’re dead.”

I love this!

Gary Vaynerchuk presents the best example of putting it all out there and watching the results fall into place.

This is especially soothing advice since blunders are meant to happen while building our repertoire on the Web. It's like watching our own person bloopers, outtakes and the "This Is Your Life"—seeing some of the stuff I've done in the past. In some cases, posts, articles and other forms of media cause me to cringe with embarrassment. But I agree with Vaynerchuk: There's value in those imperfections.
