For starters, check out the easy-to-understand video posted on top.
Simply put, Web 2.0+ refers to the next generation of the Web that mainly entails interactivity and user participation. Emerging generations such as Web 3.0 place heavy emphasis on using the Web as a database.
I started this group with
Restaurant Revolution because Nathan Gilder, propietor, has had his finger on the Internet pulse for years.
If you scroll through some of the previous topics, you'll find that it was on this group that Nathan introduced Twitter to the FohBoh community. We have also had some thought-provoking discussions on user-generated content sites and restaurant listings. While just several months ago, the restaurant industry seemed to still be underestimating their impact, they have only continued to grow and there seem to be more cropping up.
But online restaurant listings are only one way the industry is using sophisticated Web technology to service their needs. Some organizations are using the Web to facilitate supplier and vendor deals, staff training and online reservations.
I hope you find the info here useful. Thanks for your interest.
Warm and fuzzies,
Judy "the foodie"
