People feeding people - the Foodservice Industry. One of the basic neccesseties of life; One of the only true "entitlements" of life.
I am humbled by the truly talented artists and artisans that churn out the meals that we eat night after night. And the working conditions ain’t all that pleasant, either. I’ve tried my hand at various foodservice operator positions. It always looks easier than it is. The professionals that do it on a daily basis are mostly underappreciated. For them, its clear what the mission is.
It is comforting to see that we, as a society, have been progressively more willing to pay for better ingredients and better serice. Bring on the local, free-range, sustainable, organic, biodynamic, natural, fresh-from-the-farm. Its all about the food.
