I've been searching for that magical combination of music and food and found it when we stepped out for a drink last night and stepped into paradise at Eclipse Di
Luna at Park Place (Ashford Dunwoody) Have you guys checked this place out? Wow, it was one of the best nights out I've had in years (no, it was not ONLY the amazing coconut Mojitos)ha! There was fabulous ambiance with an old world, funky hip-bohemian vibe, enchanting tin star lanterns flickering above and splashes of red
velvet. We savored the best black bean-banana stuffed empanadas drizzled with caramel, roasted quail on hearts of palm, calamari, hummus-I could go on and on! YES, the coconut Mojito with loads of fresh mint was probably the yummiest cocktail I've had in years. The whole experience cost us about $20 a person which was
stellar!
The best part was the Latin trio. Rouzbeh was performing flamenco on classical guitar and we were hyponotized. This guys chops are infused with flash and fire. Along with percussionist, Homasaeh, Luis Stefanell was subbing in for Danny Stern on conga and it was simply exquisite. If you've ever seen Luis play, he takes the whole art of percussion to a new artistic-spiritual level and he took me straight back to the old Walter Mitty days, my favorite jazz haunt.
I played with Luis for many years and it was really great to see him again. I've encouraged him to sign up for ATL JAZZ and post his schedule to let us all know when he'll be back with Rouzbeh. You can put your Mojito on it, I'll be back to Eclipse Di Luna. Check Rouzbeh out:
