I love a good fry...Belgium fries are my favorite but please, no mayo. What's up that?

America's craving for French fries may be traced back to the thousands of hungry soldiers stationed in Northern France and Belgium during World War I, when American servicemen first tasted the irresistible, thinly-sliced regional potato specialty. They dubbed the hot and crispy fried snack "French Fries," after the French-speaking people who sold them. But wait, when you say French fries it never comes up to your mind anything about France. Actually potatoes came originally from south America and they became popular in Europe only in the 16th century.

However, America's introduction to French fries actually dates to the early 19th century. In 1802, President Thomas Jefferson (man, he did everything), who co-authored the Declaration of Independence and brought many notable innovations to America, served French fries at a White House dinner. And although Jefferson's predecessor, John Adams, thought Jefferson was "putting on airs by serving such novelties," French fries soon became the most popular form of potato preparation in America. No one new then it was fattening!

Further, French fries are one of the two most profitable items in a typical food service operation. The other one is bottled water. Surprise!

So, please, send pictures and stories of your favorite Fry experience, the name of the restaurant and what makes them soooo good. Why do we love them? Do you use ketchup? Ranch dressing? Au natural?

I think In-'N-Out FF are pretty good?'
