OK...it's definately never been the gourmet choice...but recently I have had 3 consecutive lousy cups of joe from Dunkin' Donuts. They used to be good for a quick cup on the go...but they have lost my vote. Anybody got any inside info here?

Dunkin' Donuts is 100% franchised, thus you may be getting coffee from a lone franchisee who is trying to cut a few corners. Try complaining on the web site.

The specification for brewing Dunkin' Donuts coffee are amongst the most strict and specific on the restaurant industry. The coffee is of very high quality, and they strive for consistancy. Unfortunately, the corporate office can be in every store every day to police the quality.

Since brewed coffee is 99% water, do you know if the water quality changed in the town recently?

I worked at Dunkin' Donuts as Coffee Technologist and Global Coffee Supply Manager from 2000-2004. during that time we very very diligent and specific regarding coffee quality from tree-to-cup. Coffee is a source of pride and profit for the company.

Best to file a complaint with corporate as they will take coffee issues very seriously.
I've found that lousy coffee is usually the result of not using enough beans while brewing. Yes, it can save a few pennies, but it's certainly not worth losing customers.
I agree that poor performance produces poor coffee.

Dunkin' Donuts does place a high priority on each franchisee preparing the coffee to established standards and specifications.
