Atlanta Foodies and Bakers alike… It’s time for the 2nd Annual Share Our Strength Great American Baking Contest presented by Domino Sugar! Atlanta's premier baking competition is inviting amateurs and professionals alike to be the key ingredient in ending childhood hunger.

This year’s contest includes three contest categories with cash and prizes for our first, second and third winners plus “crowd favorite”. From all recipes submitted, the top 10 finalists will be selected to bring their recipes for final judging to The Cook’s Warehouse in Midtown on Thursday, March 5, 2009.

The event will be an exciting night that includes the final judging and a silent auction raising funds for Share Our Strength. All funds raised help Share Our Strength and our work to end childhood hunger, specifically granted to organizations in our local community to help provide at-risk children with nutritious meals when they’re needed most – during the summer, and after school.

From now through February 12, 2009, visit www.strength.org/bakingcontest to download entry forms, see contest rules and pay non-refundable, but tax deductible entry fees. Fees are $25 for amateurs and children, $95 for professionals. Completed entry forms can also mailed along with entry fee to: Share Our Strength, 3909 Green Forest Parkway, Smyrna GA 30082.

- I'm wondering if you can point me in the right direction to your favorite restaurants in the Atlanta area that offer drink and dining specials. I have a free website where we let restaurants manage posting of specials, buy-one get-ones, happy hours, etc for free. Since we're free, we're dependent on word of mouth and cool sites like FohBoh!

We think it's a cool site but need more restauarants to sign up. I'll call them if you can get me a contact name and number or email.
