Hey now, are there any aspiring wine professionals or sommeliers out there (come on Herve, shoot for number one or two!) that are looking to increase their tasting skills? IT would be neat to get a group together every month or so and practice. Of course we would want to keep this as legal, professional and efficient as possible.
It depends on the schedule of everyone. But yes, I am working at this time to find a location in Sandy Springs to host those tastings... For professionals in our industry as well as individuals under a different formats.
I will post location and dates when ready.
I would like to be a part of this. Most wine tasting arent educational and most classes are out of my price range. I live in the Sandy Springs area so if you would like any help in organizing let me know.
Eric, Yes, I am an 'aspiring' sommelier/CSW who would love to meet new friends with similar professional interests in wine, and would love to participate.
I just received my Advanced Certification from WSET in the fall, and would love to be part of a tasting group. Please keep me in the loop as you get started - Thanks!
Hi, I am game as well. My only request would be that we observe some sort of systematic tasting protocol and save the shop talk for the end of the session, otherwise these things tend to turn into a glorified cocktail party. In general it would be wise to focus on a specific region (say, Chateauneuf du Pape) and have every participant brown bag a wine. Then, following the tasting, all is revealed and we get to discuss similarities and differences between vintages and producers. My $0.02 -MO
