My friend Aaron is posting a series on his blog -- you might want to take a look. (Actually, I think it's a guest blogger on Aaron's site...but it's an excellent guide to writing a business plan, even though they're tech geeks and not restaurant owners.)

I used a software program to write mine -- there were generic sample templates you can tweak and modify to suit your plan, or you can start from scratch. I liked using it because I could save it and modify it as needed, without having to do the actual calculations myself. (I'm no math whiz, sad to say...)
