Hello Kristin and the group! It's been a while, but our season just ended. Looking forward to spending some time here over the quiet off season.

Mike--thanks for your comments on my pictures in October. Sorry for not replying sooner, but I haven't been around and didn't know you were commenting.

Tell us how the skydiving went? In my new avatar picture I am dressed in rafting gear for Bridge Day--the third Saturday in October in West Virginia, there is BASE jumping allowed from the New River Gorge Bridge. Those of us that prefer to see the action from the safety of the river and the Class IV-V rapids, raft that day, hang out under the bridge and watch the action.

Anyway all, I have a new dream and ambition. This past election season with the bailout and all has really energized me politically. The short version of the story is that it's pretty clear there are so many people out there who want to participate in the governmental processes, but are not quite sure how it works. One thing for sure though is that congress is non-responsive to the will of the people. Hundreds of thousands of Americans contacted their reps and senators to ask them not to support the bailout. Almost 9-1 Americans cried out against the bailout. Congress ignored the wishes of the American People. It is because of this and discussions that have taken place with other bloggers out there, that I have formed a new organization and website: Inside Government. (http://www.insidegov.org). The purpose of the organization is to educate the American People how government works--or how its supposed to work--and help those that want to take action to do so.

This is my big winter project undertaking along with the help of my friends. Our hope is that it will evolve into a educational non-profit organization and really do some good in engaging Americans in the political process at all levels.

I hope the members of this group will have time to check out the site from time to time and let me know what you think.

Cheers all! It's nice to be back here at FohBoh.

Going skydiving tomorrow. Not a dream or ambition per se, but something I mention that I've always wanted to try when the topic comes up. So, for my birthday last week, my wife announced that she bought a skydiving trip for me. Hopefully you'll hear more from me after tomorrow...

Joe - I love your goals. My short and long term goals are to enjoy everyday as it happens (both personal and career) - this is sometimes difficult but important to implement. To make everyday a learning experience. To pay it forward daily and make someone's life a little better. Eventually I would love to relocate to the NW (Oregon or Washington) perhaps because in the dead of a Chicago winter it is hard to enjoy everyday as it happens :)

My daily goal is to take the day as it comes. Not letting the time waiting for my 'tall coffee' at Starbucks determine my mood and how I will respond to some unsuspecting motorist or staffer!

To do all those things I have dreamed about under my own power. (no walker with training wheels required)

To convery to others that while you have the means to love, feel, see, taste, walk, run, just do it! I want to outlive my money! Not the other way around so that my wife's second husband...says....you know baby...your husband did real good by saving his money for 'our' later years! What crusie are we taking next month?

Long term goals: to do in the short term that which I always planned to go in the long term scheme of things.
