What are the most innovative sourcing tools your companies are using?

We are in the process of using a passive consulting firm that goes out and personally talks to the references of a previously interviewed candidate for the sole purpose of selling those references on a specific concept. (Talk about a "Warm Call" instead of a "Cold Call" which generally ends in a hang up!)The objective is to turn that reference into a passive candidate. If the candidate isn't interested in that concept at that time, they are stored in a database and contacted through innovative e-blasts to tease them 3-6 months down the line.

The return on investment is priceless and whats more the candidates are not on line and there is NO competition for the candidate because they are sold only on that ONE particular concept which is deemed better than where they are presently working.
