Restaurant Social Media
Restaurant websites are getting slammed on Twitter and in a discussion on this blog: http://www.juliansanchez.com/2010/12/27/why-are-restaurant-web-site....
And, our sites are fair game. With the excuse of lack of time, our web presences look tiny and neglected. For a society that is moving increasingly online, we need to step up and learn a little bit about our online presence and its power in making our businesses succeed.
Improving your web presence needs to be a 2011 priority. Why have one if it's just going to sit and look pathetic?
What are your thoughts?

Joe Sorge of AJ Bombers (@AJBombers) and Scott Baitinger of Streetza Pizza (@Streetzapizza) are doing a great job in connecting with their customers: http://www.chicago-social-marketing.com/twitterworks-the-book.shtml

It always amazes me how many restaurants don't have their menu online. It is so important, especially in accommodating special dietary requests, like gluten-free. P.F. Chang's schedules times for their CEO to be on Twitter and takes customer requests. Since it requires time to regularly update social media accounts and interact with customers, it is a good idea to hire a social media specialist (like myself) to build and maintain your online presence and reach hidden markets.
