I've wondered a lot recently - how do you deal with a "confused" customer?

Many people in the area are putting certain restaurants down - calling them "confused restaurants" or "restaurants with an identity crisis" because of the atmosphere.  Most of these places have very extensive interior designing, loud music, dim lights and an energetic atmosphere.

How do you deal with customers who are upset with the music, lights, decor etc?  The obvious answer is to tell them that it's just not for them - but we can all see the problem with doing that.

We built our restaurant with a specific theme/ambiance in mind.  Most people appreciate it and accept it for what it is - but many do not.  How would you deal with these customers so they don't go running online writing long winded reviews about the restaurant being confused or having an identity crisis?

Feedback is appreciated!
