I just opened a shoe business and I am looking to see WHAT brand you guys / gals are looking for. Birki? Dansko? Sanita? Merrill?

Sanita. No question.
I've been wearing Simple Planet Walkers for the last 6 months. I also have a pair of MBT's, although I don't like the high profile. I've worn Red Wings (too heavy) and Hush Puppies in the past. Favorite, surprisingly, have been the Simples.
Shoes for Crews with the non-slip sole is the only shoe I wear in the Kitchen. The quality is decent and the price is not too expensive (since I tend to really abuse my shoes).
Birkis for me.
I have worn them for the better part of 20 yrs.
Resole them and keep on going. They will last 7-10 yrs.
Kitchens are very hard on shoes and the ability to resole is a money saver.
Great feedback... thank you! Keep it coming....
Over the years I have tried all the brands it seems like. Over the last year I have been wearing the bistro croc/velocity and love them. Spend 10-12 hours a day on concrete and nothing has saved me except these.

What's your feeling about Crocs? I wore them as a waiter for about a month, but found that they didn't offer enough support. They also made my feet sweaty. I wear them around the house, and in my garden, but don't think they are very practical for work.
I am not a big fan of Crocs, I usually see the typical croc that is sold in Malls. I have heard about the specialty lines they carry but have not seen them. Any shoe that is flexable enough to fold in half is junk. The harder the rubber in the sole, the better. Soft is not good, hard to explain but MBT, Dansko, Sanita and Birki all use non flexible material for the sole.
Hey Darcy!
Where are you located and what's your shoe business? I work for MOZO shoes (they offer culinary and work shoes), and found that I really like their comfort and durability. Granted, I'm probably biased, but several other people have said the same thing, so I don't think it's just me... :)
Hey Molly,
I am in Nashville, TN at cuteandcomfyshoes.net my store is Cute & Comfy Shoes.
I do carry Birki and I am working on finding another option for these kitchen and serving people. Call me / email me and tell me all about MOZO.

Anybody else heard of these? Love to get 411 !!!

Thanks,
Darcy
Yeah! Well, you can get more info at our website (http://www.mozoshoes.com) but what's your email/contact info so we can chat? I'm reachable at molly@mozoshoes.com or 720.542.7750
For years and years I've worn Dansko clogs... ...until recently. The last pair that I bought deteriorated at a pace twice that of what I was used to (nor did they fit the same in the store). As it turns out, Dansko is now having a large portion of their clogs produced in other countries effecting both the fit, quality, and durability. It's a shame that my more than decade long affair with these shoes has now been halted. For now... ...Hopefully I'll find a new favorite quickly.
