I'm currently doing an assignment for my Electronic-Commerce paper at university, involving the research and analysis of e-social networking sites. You are one of my examples !
I visit FOHBOH three times a day on average. I find that if you participate in the process you will get to meet some great people here and they can give you some great ideas and even some business. I publish three trade newspapers for the industry in Florida, Georgia and Texas and I am always looking for new story ideas, guest writers and sales people and FOHBOH has delivered on all three.

Bottom line is the more you put in the more you ill get out of it.
Howard,

Do you have a system or method for how you use FohBoh? In other words, can you give us an idea of how you maximize your time on site?

My method is simple. The first area I check is New Members and I welcome those who are in my area of business or could be potential customers. I learn as much as possible about them and their companies by looking at their website etc. I make them a connection too. I also look at the discussion section to see what people are talking about. Even if it does not relate to me I learn about the the topics being discussed. Sometimes I throw in my two cents worth of knowledge. I have met some great people here and look forward to meeting new contacts each day on FOHBOH.
I am a new user to the site. I found it a week ago, searching for information on National Grilled Cheese Month. I think I have visited four times this week.

I am still exploring, so that's what brings me here. It's really great to find a community of food & beverage service professionals genuinely invested in their careers.
So far, I have read a lot of interesting blogs and discussions. I have already picked up a few great tips for social media usage, and even a little inspiration to keep going.
I just started exploring FohBoh a few months ago. I am an artist that loves to illustrate images of food. I hope to get ideas here, plus see how my artwork can fit into the food service industry. It's been fun meeting everyone so far.
I have been using FohBoh for over 2 years now. I echo exactly what Howard said.
Our business, as a food supplier, would like to be well informed within our industry and definitely in touch with our customers who are primarily restaurants and grocery stores. We also want to be on top of the latest trends in our industry and network among our peers. -Bryant Greer w/ NorthBourne Foods in Houston, Texas www.northbournefoods.com
