Hi chris. I currently work for CRC restaurants in lakeland fl we will begin testing a program called hotschedule in a few weeks. It looks pretty cool and is for restaurant scheduling. It is web based and starts at $35.00 per month go to hotschedule.com and check out the demo.
what I like about it staff can trade shifts online and you can post open shifts online. staff & yourself can text or email information and it is always up to date.

No, at least not one that's worth purchasing. I made ours on an excel spreadsheet and it's perfect.

Have you found anything yet? Looking myself.. Tried schedulefly but I want to research more before I deciede on a long term solution.

schedulefly looks to be the best available - still a little pricey though.

The best i have seen was hotschedules.  I used it as an hourly team member and also management.  I had the iphone app which made everything super easy.  You can check availability, send messages, swap shifts.  It is a great tool.

This is an old question, but seems to be updated from time to time.  Feel free to give TimeForge a try! We're a complete labor solution, so we do both scheduling and time tracking (if needed), as well as HR functionality.

 

The solutions specific to the restaurant industry with reasonable traction include:

  - ScheduleFly
  - HotSchedules
  - TimeForge
  - When To Manage

I have started a web based Employee Shift Scheduling tool -RestaurantScheduler.
