I am sure many of you out there are having to post your calories, trans fat, saturated fat and carbs on menus now. Well it looks like menu laws are creeping into the midwest. I have a lot of recipe's to go through, Do any of you have any suggestions on how to tackle this enormous task?
The last nutritional class that I took was in the early 90's at the CIA.
I can't comment on a method for calculating calories, but we designed a digital menu board system to help restaurants meet the new requirements for posting nutritional information. Restaurants could also list advertising, menu items, even text messaging from the digital screen to cell phones.
This is a very simple and cost effective way to begin posting nutritional info. www.advancedmethod.com/express
I am a little late on this post, but FoodCalc produces a product called MenuCalc, www.menucalc.com, which is an online nutritional analysis software that costs less than labs and CDs and provides flexible nutritional information solutions to new and changing menu items. It can definitely help with compliance to new menu labeling laws that are beginning to take effect in certain states.
