First there was Black Friday. Then there was Cyber Monday. Now we might have another catchy phrase for holiday shopping — Mobile Tuesday.

According to the article:

'Mobigosee, a mobile-marketing firm, is moving forward with the launch of Mobile Tuesday on Dec. 2, despite the loss of major marketing partners whose budgets have been decimated by the recession. The concept was born out of research showing that the Tuesday after Thanksgiving is a slow shopping day, as are many Tuesdays throughout the year, said Tanya Penman, founder-CEO of Mobigosee. Armed with that knowledge, the firm aims to encourage shopping with a mobile circular of sorts every Tuesday.'

I myself just started surfing the Web on my phone. However, I have yet to purchase anything this way.

Would you purchase anything via your mobile device? Why or why not?

I really don't want to be subjected to advertising on my phone. There reaches a point when too much of anything will turn you off to the message. I would love to work in a Baskin Robbins or Dairy Queen with an unlimited amount of ice cream but after two weeks the thrill would be gone and so would my waistline. To answer your point, no I would not buy anything from my mobile, but the generations coming up I'm sure will.
With the new use of mobile phones to price check via google scanning technology, I imagine there will be the ability to instantly purchase an item too. Think of it similar to the paypal button but on phones...

I'm sure I would purchase via my phone... if I didn't have an old-school phone. Hmmm... maybe it's just the excuse I've been looking for to get that new iphone?
Mobile marketing is the future; not sure Mobile Tuesday will stick though... restaurants need to embrace technologies that are carried and cherished by their guests (i.e. cell phones)... that doesn't mean you have to purchase via your phone, but there is a tremendous number of consumers who will accept offers/advertisements on their mobile phones.
