I was wondering how many of you do this for take out or otherwise? Do you think they work for advertising purposes? And where do you purchase your items that you have your logo printed on at a fair price?
They work! I highly recommend you putting your logo on cups for sure as lots of customers keep them a re-use them for years. Make sure to spend a few extra cents and get a cup that will last and that the logo and message will stay on it for a length of time.
Mystie, I asked my friend who works for a national food company and he mentioned Dart for printed styrofoam cups. He said printed plastic cups were easier to find.
The printed plastic cups can be used over and over.
The styrofoam ones, people will throw away; thus, out of sight, out of mind (your advertising message), and they won't remember your place.
I work with many small restaurant companies and they ask me the same question. A logo on a cup, a napkin, a bag is a great way to get your name in fromt of your potential guest but they can be cost prohibitive. Small runs are generally expensive and not a priority of the producer. The greater issue is the need to receive those cases as soon as they are produced. Generally storage is an issue.
- For single unit operations I generally steer them away from putting logo's on paper cups. I instead recommend reusable plastic cups (i.e. Whirley Cups). The runs are smaller and the reusable aspect encourages guests to bring them back expecially if the location runs a refill special. These cups can be found on desks, in cars and a round the backyard putting your name out there and in peoples face (so to speak). Spend time on the creation of these as you want them to spark interest and not be too busy.
- For multi-unit operations, I think putting the logo on cups and bags, etc really pays off. The economies of scale are much better and often a distributor will purchase and wearhouse these for you.
The more your logo and name are in front of people, the sooner your "brand" is recognized.
