Restaurant Social Media

Let me start this off by saying that i have been in the hospitality industry since the age of 18. I have had the pleasure of working for some of the best hotel companies in the business, as well as some rather successful restaurant companies. I am currently a manager for Roy's Restaurant (Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine) in Las Vegas.

I am starting this thread with this in mind. I want everyone's opinion of what hospitality is to them in just ONE SENTENCE!!

Working for Roy's, they do have some interesting views that i truly believe in, but i am always looking to get input from outside my usual sources

My feel on hospitality is treating visitors to your restaurant as guests to your home.
The meaning of hospitality is making people feel welcomed.

Too often we make our customers feel like we're doing them a favor for slecting us instead of the competition. It supposed to be the other way around!

Stoligirl,
I really like your explanation of hospitality. Very nice!
Hmm...here is something corny but something i find true

Hospitality is a sense of welcoming guests, as if they were family or friend, into our "home" and showing them a true sense of passion for what you have a passion for.
Embrace those inside and outside of your establishment, Listen to what people are saying, thank them even when they are grumpy and truely let people feel that you care about them and their concerns because hospitality be shared everywhere ... goodwill among people!
