FOHBOH Members, My name is Brian Duffy & I am a Chef in Philadelphia. For the last 18 years I have done a tremendous amount in my career, from being a national spokesperson & being on TV to helping to feed the homeless, I have met an amazing amount of people from great chefs to Great employees & to Great Guests. I have always wanted to give something back to the community by utilizing my god given skills. Recently I received an Invitation to be on the Chef's Council for Chef's For Humanity, Chefs for Humanity is an alliance of culinary professionals and educators working in partnership with U.S. and global organizations, providing nutrition education, hunger relief, and emergency and humanitarian aid to reduce hunger across the world. Our Chefs Council and Chefs Corps volunteer their time, expertise, culinary and nutritional knowledge work to support national and world-wide relief programs working to reduce hunger. I am asking you to please read the letter below as sent to me by Cat Cora, the Founder of our organization. Thanks & I look forward to Hearing that FOH BOH had the ability to add to our campaign. While making your donation please feel free to mention the FOHBOH & my name!

I’m writing to you today asking for your help.
I founded Chefs for Humanity in the wake of Hurricane Katrina as a way to mobilize America’s greatest chefs in a fight to assure
an adequate supply of food for people in need of basic sustenance. It didn’t matter whether the reason for their need was a
natural disaster that destroyed existing supply lines for food; or something more systemic like third-world poverty. My fellow
chefs and I work with food every day, in a country of abundance, and we wanted to do something that would truly make the
world a better, more humane place.
So our organization was created, a distinguished board of chefs and humanitarians established, and the real, very satisfying
work of making a difference began, much of it made possible by your support.
Chefs for Humanity needs your help now in order to reach our goals. There is an aggressive schedule of
activities planned during the next several months, aimed at raising funds to support the mission of the organization. At the same
time, we are kicking off several wonderful programs that will deliver help where help is needed:
• Partnering with We Can! to help educate underserved families across America about how to make better food choices
and lead a healthier lifestyle;
• Working with the World Food Program to help the people of the Wawa Boom region of Nicaragua and Honduras
recover from the ravages of Hurricane Felix, and rebuild a sustainable agricultural program that produces the food they
need for survival;
• Helping the residents of the Lukulu region of Zambia with basic food needs like milk and staples.
These programs help people in need, and we need your help in order to do them.
We’re looking to raise $30,000 in the next 30 days as seed money to help our spring fundraising efforts realize their
greatest potential. That’s only $1,000 a day – and if each person receiving this were to donate just $1 per day during that
fundraising period, we would exceed our target by a factor of four!
Won’t you help now? Whatever amount you can afford to contribute today, it will help us to reach our immediate goal – and
reaching that goal will make it possible for us to carry out the programs we’ve undertaken and develop many more.
Each day we enjoy the abundance of America. Each day we use the fruits of our labor to put food on our tables and sustain our
lives. For the next thirty days, won’t you help us do extend that abundance to people in need? Won’t you use some of the fruits
of your labor to help sustain the lives of the people of Wawa Boom and the Lukulu Region?
Please become a part of our $30,000 in 30 days campaign by going to
www.chefsforhumanity.org/donate.php and making
a contribution.
Thank you for caring!
Cat Cora, Founder & President
Chefs for Humanity
PS – In addition to your generous donation – would you please consider forwarding this letter to 10 of
your friends or colleagues along with a personal note? That small effort will go a long way towards
helping us meet our goals. Thank you for support of CFH!
